When it comes to Big Macs, bigger is definitely better. Unlike traditional French-style macarons that people typically see, Big Macs features super “thick” Korean-style macarons, also called “Fatcarons.” When you see them, you understand why. While macrons are typically very plain and simple, owner Jennifer Hoffman injects bright colors and creative designs into her gigantic treats. What inspired you to get into foodservice?
“I've ways been inspired to cook. I love bringing people together to enjoy a delicious meal, using new fun ingredients and challenging myself.”
What do you love about your business?
“I love my business because it represents me. It has wild flavors and bright fun colors. It takes risks and does a lot of cool stuff no one else is doing.”
What’s the most interesting thing to happen to your business?
“The coolest thing for me is seeing us featured on social media—Oreo featured my cookies! That was so cool! I hope I made them proud.”
What is the biggest challenge you’ve had to overcome?
“Being accepted as a different kind of macaron. It was rough at first; I don’t think people knew what to think of these giant cookies. Once word got around, the orders started flying in.”
