The kickoff to this year’s Art of Catering Food in Washington DC, featured a Hands On event at the culinary facility at Stratford University in Alexandria, VA. The program’s instructors as well as Chefs from the ICA (International Catering Assoc.) taught caterers from all over the world the fine art of pastry, the versatility of vegetables as entrees and customizable hors d’oeuvres. Caterers also took a trip down the Silk Road and learned the history of and tips on Asian cooking as well.
Students travelled as far as Malaysia and New Zealand to attend the event and soak in ideas that would help their own businesses back home.
