A Family Smokehouse Legacy

Hoggy's BBQSince opening its first location in Linworth, Ohio, in 1991, Hoggy’s BBQ has been Columbus’s go-to spot for authentic Southern barbecue, featuring hand-rubbed meats, made-from-scratch sides and award-winning Mac & Cheese. What began as a family passion project has grown into a city favorite, with every dish prepared to order and slow-smoked to perfection.

Carrying On the Tradition

My family started Hoggy’s in 1991 as Columbus, Ohio’s original BBQ spot. I was working in venture capital after school, but when my dad got sick, I stepped in to carry on the family legacy,” explains owner Kyle Turner.

That personal dedication is evident in every bite: whether you’re ordering their famous Pulled Pork, tender Pulled Chicken, or signature Ribs and Brisket.

Innovating Flavor

Kyle brings a modern twist to the time-honored recipes, blending flavors from around the world with his family’s secret rubs. “I love experimenting with flavors from other cultures and blending them with my family’s recipes to create unique BBQ dishes. Most of all, I love serving people and being the best part of their day,” he says.

National Recognition

The local love is great but national acclaim is even better. When Texas Monthly’s Daniel Vaughn named Hoggy’s one of the best BBQ spots outside Texas, it was a proud moment for the team. “Local spotlights are always appreciated, but national recognition like that means a lot,” Kyle recalls.

Freshness Over Everything

One of the biggest challenges has been balancing daily demand with quality. Hoggy’s commitment? Sell out every day with fresh, never-reheated barbecue. “We’re committed to serving fresh BBQ every day, never reheated or held over,” Kyle notes.

Efficiency Behind the Scenes

Behind every smooth service is the right equipment. Hoggy’s kitchen relies on Cambro food storage containers and food pans to stay organized and efficient. “They’re reliable, easy to clean, and we’re big fans of the quality,” says Kyle.
