While many people are inspired by margaritas when they visit Mexico, the owners of Farm Cup Coffee were inspired by a cup of Jose. After Tony Yuan and Emerson Haro saw a VW camper transformed into a mobile coffee shop, an idea sparked that quickly turned into action. Together, Tony and Emerson have poured their hearts into Farm Cup Coffee, now recognized as Los Angeles’s brightest vintage coffee van. Their story combines travel, passion and the pursuit of something beyond the ordinary.
What inspired you to get into foodservice?
“I went to culinary school after college and loved cooking for others. After being a personal chef, I started a coffee business with my partner and wanted to offer great food along with our coffee shop.”

What do you love about your business?
“There’s no better feeling than people letting us know they enjoy our food and beverages.”
What’s the best thing to happen to your business?
“The best thing about our business is how we started off as a coffee truck, and even after the pandemic, we were able to pivot and grow into a full-out quick service cafe. Our coffee truck now operates in another brick-and-mortar location separate from our café.”
What is the biggest challenge you’ve had to overcome?
“Honestly, the biggest challenge is surviving all the ups and downs of not only the pandemic, but also the restaurant industry. We closed a 3rd location last year that was our biggest venture yet, and we’re still paying for it.”

Which Cambro products help make your business work?
“Cambro containers of all sizes. It makes storing things super organized and makes transporting much easier.”
