We’ve highlighted some interesting businesses over the years in our Business of the Week section. This week is no exception. The school lunch program seems to be a constant issue of national debate. Our featured foodservice business of the week takes a different approach to providing school lunches.
Bryan Beyer, owner of Hot Meals Catering in Stuart, Florida, offers parents the ability to order a lunch meal for their kids and have it delivered to their school. Our service is for parents “who want to assure that their children receive a nutritious and appetizing midday meal in school.”
What inspired Bryan to get into foodservice?
I have always loved to cook even as a child. My company also provides a unique service that has a heart-warming side as well.
I love being able to provide a unique and appreciated service for schools that not have a lunch program. I love being to offer children nutritious hot meals and cold meals and side options.
What is the coolest thing about your business?
The coolest thing is being able to pay it forward. Going from my wife & I both being laid off, on unemployment and on food stamps. Being able to do this for others is rewarding. We give free meals to the children whose parents are falling upon hard times. We also help the soup kitchen at one of our schools.
What has been the biggest business challenge you’ve overcome?
Growing the business and offering our service to more children, parents, and schools. Marketing is a great thing and a little goes a long way.
And finally what Cambro products help make Hot Meals Catering work?
Cambro hot containers, cold containers, lunch trays, and most important to our business are the Cambro boxes for hot/cold transport.
We wish Bryan continued success with his mission to provide a great service to schools, parents and kids. As the featured foodservice business of the week, he will receive a storage container gift pack.
