If you’ve ever been drawn across a festival midway by a kaleidoscope of bright, ice-cold aguas frescas lined up in clear containers with bold labels, you might’ve found Michefresca King. This family business has been pouring fresh flavors for 30+ years, with the current owner carrying the torch for the last dozen. Guilver and Joanna are the husband and wife team that shared their story with us.
What inspired you to get into foodservice?
Joanna’s father started the business over 30 years ago and now she and her husband carry on the legacy.
What do you love about your business?
They’ve poured for crowds of up to 60,000 and have taken the show on the road to Texas, Seattle, Portland, and many more upcoming. “We love how we can travel and bring all of our different flavor to people around [the country] to enjoy.”
What’s the most interesting/coolest thing that’s happened?
“We went viral for having many different drink flavors.” With over 100,000 social media followers, Michefresca King gets it’s daily dose of popularity and virality. Their clearly labeled drink containers and a distinctive logo helped set a visual standard many now (try to) emulate.
Being so successful breeds imitators, but they doubled down on the brand: a strong logo system, color-coded labels, and a polished setup that makes the drinks as eye-catching as they are refreshing.
They are always testing new flavors. As far as what’s popular, Dragon Fruit Lemonade leads, with staples like Cucumber Lemon, Watermelon, and Pineapple always moving.
Why Cambro?
“The 5-gallon clear Cambro made all the difference in our drinks.”
Clear, durable CamRound Classic containers help them batch, display, and serve efficiently while letting the branding and flavors pop.
