How to Clean Your Cambro Hot Box

@keeblerskitchenbbq

You use your Cambro hot box every week, but when is the last time you cleaned it? Cleaning your hot box regularly can discourage odors from lingering and extend the life of your unit. When you’re using your unit, wipe up food spills as soon as possible. After service, thoroughly wash your carrier to discourage staining and difficult-to-clean conditions. Follow these tips and tricks to keep your Cambro hot box good as new:

Cam GoBox®

Cleaning Instructions:

  1. Clean the carrier with a cloth or sponge, water, and any mild commercial detergent suitable for plastic surfaces (examples: Formula 409 by Clorox, Orange Force by Ecolab, etc.).
  2. Do not use abrasive cleaners, steel wool, abrasive pads, or metal brushes. Cleaners containing waxes or petroleum based cleaners are not recommended as they may leave unwanted residue.
  3. Carrier can be washed out with a water hose, but do not use a pressure washer or other high-pressure devices.
  4. Allow to air dry with the door or lid ajar or use a towel.

How to remove lingering scents or stains:

  • Create a vinegar and water solution made up of 1 part vinegar to 4 parts hot water. Wash unit thoroughly with solution, rinse with hot water and let dry with the door or lid open.

Ultra Pan Carrier® – Food Pan Carriers – CamCarts®

Cleaning Instructions:

  1. If your carrier has a lid, vent cap, or gasket, remove each part and clean thoroughly. Where possible, remove doors and clean around hinges and/or pins.
  2. Using a soft cloth or brush and a mild commercial cleaning detergent, clean the outside and inside, paying close attention to handles, latches, hinges and vent caps.
  3. Sanitizing solutions are recommended. Do not use any cleaners containing ammonia or bleach or steel wool/abrasive pads or brushes.
  4. Rinse with clean hot water 70ºF (21,1°C) or hotter and air dry whenever possible.
  5. Wipe unit thoroughly with a dry, clean, soft cloth to remove all moisture inside and out after washing.
  6. Store with lids and doors slightly open.

How to remove lingering scents or stains:

• Dilute 2 to 3 tablespoons of baking soda per gallon of hot tap water or 1 part lemon juice or vinegar to 4 parts hot water. Wash unit thoroughly with solution, rinse with hot water and let dry with the door or lid open. You can also use an odor-removing soak or sanitizer.
