Cambro has officially opened Holt Distribution Center, a new 380,000-square-foot facility in Mebane, North Carolina, marking a significant milestone in the company’s continued investment in its East Coast operations.

Located next door to Cambro’s nearly 500,000 sq.ft. manufacturing facility, the new building allows for a seamless connection between production and distribution. Together, the two facilities nearly double Cambro’s operational footprint in the area to more than 850,000 square feet, reinforcing its commitment to faster, more efficient service for customers across the Eastern United States and Canada.
Built for Growth and Efficiency
Holt Distribution Center was designed with current and future needs in mind. Equipped with 56 dock doors and two drive-in doors for streamlined logistics, the new facility is climate-controlled with insulated tilt-up panels and an insulated roof.
Cambro first expanded beyond California in 2015 with the opening of its original Mebane facility. Since then, the company has continued to grow its East Coast presence to better meet customer demand and reduce delivery times. That growth demanded the opening of our Holt Distribution Center.
By increasing storage capacity and improving distribution capabilities, Cambro is able to stock more products closer to its customers. Cambro’s goal is always to help foodservice operators get what they need, when they need it. At any time, Cambro has 1200 of its most popular products in stock, available for immediate shipment.
Supporting the Local Community
In addition to operational benefits, the new facility represents an ongoing investment in the Mebane community. Cambro has steadily expanded its workforce in North Carolina and expects to add up to 60 additional employees within the next few years as operations scale alongside customer demand.
Local leaders and company executives have consistently highlighted the strong partnership between Cambro and the city of Mebane, citing its business-friendly environment and strategic location as key factors in the company’s expansion.
“[Cambro’s success contributes directly to the viability and resilience of our community. Congratulations to Cambro Manufacturing. Thank you for choosing Alamance County and thank you for growing with us,” said Goral.
Looking to the Future
With Holt Distribution Center now open, Cambro can offer greater efficiency, increased inventory availability and improved service to continue to meet the evolving needs of the foodservice industry.
As demand continues to rise, Cambro’s investment in infrastructure like the Holt Distribution Center underscores a long-term commitment to innovation, customer service and operational excellence.
