What inspired you to get into foodservice?
“I could say it was Thomas Keller and Alice Waters but that wouldn’t be entirely accurate. What actually inspired me was the desire to help others, build a community, eradicate scarcity mindset and build something up.”
What do you love about your business?
“We love the fact that Pura Vida Catering is 100% women-owned. We love our resilience, fearlessness and we love our Enyucados (cassava croquettes).”
What's the coolest thing to happen to your business?
“We were invited to compete to a pitch contest and we actually won!!! It was very serendipitous.”
What is the biggest business challenge you have overcome?
“A few months before launching, I was rear-ended, losing our delivery vehicle and taking on a lot of debt. But, with a lot of resilience and help from the universe, we built a business that now stands on its own. We overcame those challenges without investors, focusing on sustainable growth and fearlessly pushing forward to become one of the best.”
Which Cambro products help make your business work?
“Our staff and I love our UPC300s, they effortlessly keep food hot for 4 hours and are perfect for our long events, such as weddings. Our Cam GoBoxes are great for salads, cold apps and setting up charcuterie boards. We use them with a combination of ice baths and our food stays fresh and safe.
Then, we have multiple size CamSquares to keep our walk in organized and happy! We also love our Camwear clear food pans! They are perfect to store large salads and they fit inside our Cam GoBoxes. We also use Cambro salad bowls; so amazing!”
