Cambro’s Business of the Week: Navarro Cheesecake

While cheesecake is beloved by Americans, most Brazilians weren’t thrilled with the dessert until Mateus Navarro introduced them to Navarro Cheesecake. Self-proclaimed as the “best cheesecake in town,” Navarro brought the treat to São Paulo with the hopes of properly representing the American classic overseas. Furthermore, an American tradition wouldn’t be complete without American-made products; Navarro Cheesecake proudly stores their syrups in Cambro containers.

What inspired you to get into foodservice?

“I was inspired to get into foodservice by a passion for gastronomy and all its processes, but especially having the opportunity to provide people with good experiences.”

What do you love about your business?

“In Brazil, cheesecake is not as well-known of a product as it is in America. We are the only pastry shop in São Paulo specialized in cheesecake production, as it should be: baked, without any kind of gelatin or thickeners or the addition of artificial preservatives and flavorings.

In this way, we are able to achieve the best possible product, ensuring the correct texture and perfect taste. Our structure consists of a factory from which all our products come out, both for customers and for our resellers, Paul’s Boutique Pizza and Bullguer.”

What's the most interesting thing to happen to your business?

“People who say they don’t like cheesecake until they eat our product and become frequent customers.”

Which Cambro products help make your business work?

“Cambro products are really differentiated, when it comes to quality and functionality. All of our syrups are made with real fruits, without the addition of any type of food coloring or flavoring, and of course, always stored in Cambros!”
