Healthy Snacks for Multi-Classroom Feeding

The Challenge

Wanda Pedraza, Director of Staff Development for Miami Dade County, Florida School District needs to transport and dispense fruit snacks to students in multiple classrooms in 50 schools.

The Solution

Wanda worked with her local Cambro Representative to create a custom solution that would transport bulk fruit as snacks to multiple classrooms at 50 different schools 3 days a week. “Parents tell us that students are pointing out various products in the supermarket that they have tried in school,” says Pedraza.

Ohio State University will be hosting a Farm to School conference on March 13th and Whole Foods Market has donated funds for a local school to receive a salad bar.

Association for Dressings & Sauces Donate a Salad Bar

Students at Craig Elementary in Lawrenceville, Georgia is the twelfth school in Gwinnett County to receive a salad bar. “Craig Elementary students are taught about healthy lifestyle choices, including exercise and nutrition, in addition to their regular curriculum,” said Angie Wright, Craig Elementary principal.
